School Health Kits

In order to make the Healthy Schools Program a personal experience for every child involved, CWEF provides a School Health Kit to each student that attends a school where at least one teacher was previously a part of a CWEF health training program.  Gallon-sized reclosable plastic bags are stuffed full of donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, washcloths, hand-held mirrors, plastic cups, nail clippers, and fun stickers, and are then given to each child. Colored pencils and sharpeners are also included so that the kids can color their very own CWEF Healthy Choices Coloring Book that was written and illustrated specifically for this project. Hundreds of such kits and books were distributed in the Fall semester of 2006, but should funding become available, it is CWEF’s goal to distribute thousands within the coming year.
